PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - A founder of a group formed after high levels of industrial chemicals were found in drinking water at the former Pease Air Force base in Portsmouth.
Andrea Amico is getting the Environmental Protection Agency’s Citizen Excellence in Community Involvement Award, which is a national recognition for achievements in environmental protection. She is a founder of the Testing for Pease group.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen said Amico is getting the award Wednesday.
The group works to raise awareness about PFAS contamination.
