Venus Iraheta, arrested for an MS-13 related murder, was sentenced to 40 years in jail Friday, according to a report from WTOP radio.

Ms. Iraheta, now 18 from Alexandria, Virginia, pled guilty to first-degree murder in January 2018 as one of the people responsible for stabbing 15-year-old Damaris Reyes Rivas to death in January 2017.

The group believed Ms. Rivas was to blame for the death of Christian Sosa Sivas, a local MS-13 leader. They reportedly sent a video of the slaying to the top members of the gang in El Salvador.
