Former ESPN columnist and television host Jemele Hill will join The Atlantic, the magazine’s editor-in-chief announced Monday.

Hill made national headlines when she called President Donald Trump a white supremacist on Twitter last year. ESPN suspended her a few weeks later for suggesting fans should boycott the Dallas Cowboys to protest owner Jerry Jones’ opinion on standing for the national anthem.

Not long after ESPN decided to take Hill and Michael Smith off the 6 p.m. edition of “SportsCenter,” which became known for focusing on cultural and political intersections as much as it covered the games on the field, Hill announced an amicable departure from the company last month.

Hill did not have much to add to the announcement Monday, save for one emoji:
