GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Officials have identified a man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Mississippi.
Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove told news outlets that 53-year-old Lloyd Simoneaux of Saucier was struck shortly before 5:30 a.m. Thursday at an intersection in Gulfport.
Hargrove said Simoneaux.
Police Sgt. Clayton Fulks said the driver of the car that hit the victim stopped immediately and called officers. Fulks says the driver is cooperating in the investigation.
He said preliminary information indicates the man was walking in the middle of the lanes crossing the highway when he was struck.
No charges have been filed.
