ESTANCIA, N.M. (AP) - Authorities in Estancia County in central New Mexico are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Sheriff’s Office in Estancia.
Officials say aggravated battery suspect Kyle Eltvedt escaped Thursday from a holding cell and that authorities have learned he is an experienced outdoorsman.
Eltvedt is described as 36 years old, 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and weighs 165 pounds (75 kilograms). He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie, blue tie-die shirt and black or gray paints.

The Sheriff’s Office said he wasn’t armed when he ran off but should be considered dangerous.
Estancia is 41 miles (66 kilometers) southeast of Albuquerque.
