SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A fire during a training exercise has damaged a new $1.1 million fire truck in South Portland, Maine.
WMTW-TV reports that the truck caught fire Tuesday when its ladder came in contact with an overhead electrical wire on Skillin Street. The city is investigating how the incident happened.
The fire also damaged the ladder controls. No injuries were reported.
The truck was put into service Sunday and is now out of service.
South Portland Fire Department will be using a back-up truck.
