DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) - People in the Devils Lake School District have rejected a high school expansion project for a second time.
The Devils Lake Journal reports that 56 percent of voters in Tuesday’s election favored the $6 million proposal, but 60 percent was needed for passage.
Superintendent Scott Privratsky says he’s disappointed, but the school district has to respect the wishes of the voters.
Voters in March 2017 rejected a proposal to build a $9 million fine arts center on the high school campus, with 53 percent support when 60 percent was needed.
Privratsky says there are no plans to try for a third vote.
