RENO, Nev. (AP) - U.S. Interstate 80 has reopened east of Reno after a wildfire forced the closure of the westbound lanes.

Traffic was moving in both directions shortly after noon Tuesday near the Derby Dam exit about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Sparks.

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District says the brush fire that broke out Tuesday morning is fully contained. It burned an estimated 30 acres (12 hectares) before aerial support from two helicopters helped snuff out the flames.

There were no reports of injuries of structure damage.

The National Weather Service in Reno issued a red flag warning for most of northern Nevada Tuesday due to the threat of dangerous wildfires in the dry conditions with winds forecast to gust up to 40 mph (64 kph).

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
