It’s official: People love watching patriotic “Florida man” Lane Pittman stand up to hurricanes while hair-metal plays in the background.

The latest in a series of Facebook videos by rock-loving Mr. Pittman attracted nearly 30 million views within hours. The post, reminiscent of “Lieutenant Dan Taylor” defiantly facing a hurricane in 1994’s “Forrest Gump,” came as Hurricane Florence battered Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

“You are weak and small Florence! Florida man is here!” the Jacksonville Beach citizen wrote of the Category 1 storm and its 70-mph winds.

Warnings by local authorities to evacuate the area failed to sway Mr. Pittman.

“Just being free and American. I don’t let nothing oppress me, especially no dang, freaking hurricane,” he told Fox Business Network reporter Kristina Partsinevelos afterwards.

Mr. Pittman also faced off against Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Hurricane Irma last year.

“Had a request for some hair action during the ‘cane. I granted it,” he added on Facebook.
