GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man who pistol-whipped his father and was shot in the mouth has been arrested.
AL.com reports 52-year-old Randall Allen Whitten was booked into jail on a felony domestic-violence charge Wednesday.
Marshall County Sheriff’s spokesman Heath Thomas says Allen pistol-whipped his 73-year-old father. Authorities say the father then shot his son in the mouth with a small-caliber handgun.
The fight and the shooting happened when the son went to the father’s house. Both men have been taken to hospitals for treatment.
It’s unclear if Allen has a lawyer.
