PHOENIX (AP) - Police have released the name of a teenage girl who died in a crash in Phoenix.

They say the victim was 16-year-old Emily Vargas.

Police responded to the scene around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday and say it appears two pickup trucks collided at an intersection.

They say Vargas was riding in the backseat of car driven by an 18-year-old man who doesn’t have a driver’s license.

She was transported from the scene in critical condition and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police say neither speed nor impairment are suspected in the crash.
