WYOMING, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a murder suspect exchanging gunfire with officers on a western Michigan freeway has been arrested after being struck by a police cruiser.
Grand Rapids and Wyoming police say in a statement that the 33-year-old man was in stable condition Thursday at a hospital.
Wyoming police named him Thursday morning as a suspect in a slaying at a mobile home park. The pickup truck he was driving was spotted about 10:15 a.m. and police chased the vehicle onto US-131. The chase ended near downtown Grand Rapids.
Police say the man crashed on the freeway, exited the vehicle and started shooting at officers. A Grand Rapids officer used his cruiser to strike the man. No officers were hurt.
