LEXINGTON, Mass. (AP) - A man has died after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Lexington.

State Police say the pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was in the northbound lanes of the highway at about 3:45 a.m. Friday when he was struck by the rig. The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they do not know why the man was in the roadway at the time.



Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer was a 40-year-old man from Northampton, Pennsylvania.

No charges have been filed but the crash remains under investigation.
