COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi man who ran away from a state trooper has been found hiding in a storage building.
Lowndes County Sheriff Mike Arledge tells news outlets that 37-year-old Kristopher Kellum of Hamilton was arrested Thursday morning in Monroe County.
Kellum ran away from a state trooper Sunday night when the trooper checked on a disabled vehicle on U.S. 45. Kellum ran into nearby woods when the officer pulled up. A search with dogs and drones on Monday didn’t find him.
Wanted for illegal possession of a gun by a convicted felon, Arledge says Kellum was armed with a gun Thursday. He was just across the Lowndes County line into Monroe County
He’s jailed in Lowndes County. It’s unclear when Kellum will see a judge or if he has a lawyer.
