WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Authorities in North Carolina have accused a couple of assaulting a woman with pepper spray and setting her hair on fire.
News outlets report the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Christopher Scott Farmer convinced the victim on Tuesday to come to his home, where 33-year-old Muriel Hansley beat the woman, pepper sprayed her and then lit her hair.
The victim, who investigators say had a previous disagreement with Hansley, escaped the home and went to the hospital, where she called 911.
Deputies arrested the couple at the home and charged Hansley with second-degree kidnapping and malicious use of an explosive with injury. She was given a $150,000 bond.
Farmer was charged with felony conspiracy and booked under a $250,000 bond. It’s not known if either have an attorney.
