TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) - A former Los Angeles police officer who molested his friend’s 13-year-old daughter has been sentenced to five years in state prison.
The Daily Breeze of Torrance says 52-year-old Kenneth Collard was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty earlier this month to committing lewd acts on a child. He’ll have to register for life as a sex offender.
Prosecutors say Collard assaulted the girl in her bedroom last year while staying at his friend’s house in Torrance.
Collard was a 22-year LAPD veteran. He resigned shortly after being charged.
