CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a woman who was walking on the sidewalk in Chicopee last week when she was struck and killed by an allegedly drunken driver.

Police on Tuesday say 24-year-old Laura Hebert died last Friday.

Hebert, a Chicopee resident, was walking with a 23-year-old man when she was struck. The man was also injured but has been released from the hospital.

Police say they were struck by 48-year-old David Delgado, after his car went onto the sidewalk. Police say he walked away from the scene, but was apprehended a short distance away.

The Chicopee man was held on $750,000 after pleading not guilty Monday to charges including motor vehicle homicide and operating under the influence of liquor.

His attorney did not comment.
