MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) - Prosecutors say a Pennsylvania man has been charged in the murder of a woman found strangled along a New Jersey roadway five years ago.
The Atlantic County prosecutor’s office said Monday that 39-year-old Timothy Wright of Chambersburg was charged with murder Friday and taken into custody by Chambersburg police on the same day.
Prosecutors said Wright had been living in Mays Landing when the body of 25-year-old Joyce Vanderhoff of Egg Harbor Township was spotted by a motorist along a Hamilton Township road in February 2014. An autopsy concluded she had been strangled.
A message could not be left at a Pennsylvania number listed for Wright and it’s unclear whether he has an attorney; a message left at a New Jersey number listed for him wasn’t immediately returned Monday.
