JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Latest on Alaska Attorney General Kevin Clarkson (all times local):

12:50 p.m.

Attorney General Kevin Clarkson says he had “quite the scare” but is on his way to a full recovery.

Clarkson was on a flight to Seattle Friday when a state Department of Law spokeswoman says he felt discomfort and notified a flight attendant.

Spokeswoman Cori Mills says paramedics met the plane when it landed. She says Clarkson suffered a heart attack and went into cardiac arrest. She says he had emergency surgery to fix an artery in his heart.

A heart attack occurs when blood flow to the heart becomes blocked. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating.

Clarkson was returning from a conference in Louisiana.

Clarkson, in a statement, says he’s been speaking with the department’s management team since Saturday.
