MOUNTAIN GREEN, Utah (AP) - An advisory for residents of the northern Utah community of Mountain Green in Morgan County to boil their drinking water because of a security issue has been lifted.

KUTV reports that about 750 people served by Cottonwood Mutual Water Co. were affected by the advisory, which was issued Monday after it was learned that somebody had broken and removed the lock securing a storage tank’s lid.

Cottonwood said Wednesday on its website that testing found that the water is safe to drink, that the lock has been replaced and that fencing will be placed around critical infrastructure.

Cottonwood also said it is seeking information on whoever was responsible for the damage.
