COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A prosecutor says a man accused of crashing into a mobile home and causing the death of a woman inside the home has been indicted on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien’s statement Tuesday said 29-year-old Everette Collins was driving his SUV recklessly Jan. 19 when he struck a metal fence and crashed into 62-year-old Judith Ware’s Franklin Township home in suburban Columbus. O’Brien says Collins then fled on foot but was later identified by DNA found on the SUV’s airbag.
Wade and her 5-year-old granddaughter were injured in the crash. Wade died from her injuries about two weeks later.
O’Brien said Collins also was indicted Tuesday on a charge of failure to stop after an accident.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Collins.
