DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a 25-year-old man is suspected of driving impaired when his car overturned, killing his 7-year-old daughter and injuring his 3- and 4-year-old daughters.

A news release says Devontae Sanders of Donaldsonville was arrested on charges including vehicular homicide - that is, killing someone by driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Trooper Taylor Scrantz says other charges include reckless driving, vehicular negligent injury, failing to use seat belts or child restraints for his daughters and himself and driving while texting or using social media.

He says Sanders’ 2008 Toyota Camry ran off a curve on Louisiana Highway 308 about 11 p.m. Wednesday, went into a ditch, hit a culvert and overturned.

Scrantz says a toxicology sample has been sent to the state police lab.
