CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - A 63-year-old woman has died and two others were injured after a man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a clothing company in central Mississippi.

Copiah County sheriff’s deputies say Houston Claiborne tells them his brakes failed Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his Jeep Cherokee, slamming into a metal building of Team Safety Apparel in Crystal Springs.

Coroner Ellis Stuart says Beatrice Porter of Hazlehurst died. Two other women inside the building were injured and taken to hospitals. Claiborne wasn’t seriously injured.

Laconny Loyd, a witness who was passing by, says “it looked like a bomb went off.”

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says it’s investigating the crash.
