BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a woman was arrested after fatally hitting a 13-year-old girl on a bicycle in Florida.

A Polk County Sheriff’s Office news release says Mariana Perez Borroto was airlifted to an Orlando hospital Wednesday morning and later died from her injuries.

Deputies say Mariana had been riding her bike to Lake Marion Creek Middle School in Kissimmee when 25-year-old Micaela Coronel hit the girl with a minivan.

Officials say Coronel moved to the U.S. from Argentina last fall and didn’t have a Florida driver license. She was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a valid license causing death.

Coronel was being held without bond. Jail records didn’t list an attorney.
