CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities say they’ve made 19 arrests in six months after investigations into child exploitation in West Virginia.

Federal and state officials on Thursday announced the results of a task force that focuses on child exploitation and human trafficking.

U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart says his office has been proactive in preventing such crimes.

The task force has also executed 27 search warrants and had 10 indictments in the Southern District of West Virginia.

The unit is comprised of federal prosecutors, the FBI, West Virginia State Police and others.
