COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Residents of about 20 homes evacuated by a small wildfire south of Colorado Springs are back home.

The fire burned about 3 acres (1.2 hectares) Sunday near Fort Carson before firefighters brought it under control.

The cause of the fire isn’t known.

Meanwhile, a wildfire that started Thursday night on Colorado’s southeastern plains is 80 percent contained at 1,600 acres (647 hectares). Firefighters say the fire near Las Animas continues to burn within the perimeter.
