Many alumni of the University of Virginia work in the District. Even some pro athletes.

Virginia alums like Washington Nationals closer Sean Doolittle and Washington Redskins tackle Morgan Moses celebrated the Cavaliers’ first NCAA men’s basketball title Monday night over Texas Tech.

Doolittle tweeted several times after the final whistle blew on the national championship game, which went into overtime.

In another post, he referenced Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman, another Virginia alum surely euphoric over the Cavaliers’ championship though he doesn’t use social media.

Meanwhile, the Redskins tweeted a video of an overjoyed Moses, their former first-round pick out of Virginia, congratulating the team while wearing a Cavaliers jacket.

“To Coach Bennett, to the boys, Kyle Guy, hey man, we appreciate you. Wahoowa!” Moses said, invoking Virginia’s unofficial cheer.
