CHERAW, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say three people are dead after a shooting in South Carolina.

Chesterfield County Sheriff JD Dixon says the shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on a road south of Cheraw.

Dixon told news outlets investigators are still trying to unravel exactly what happened. He says there no longer appears to be a threat to the public.

The coroner’s office has not released any details about the people killed.

Dixon says the State Law Enforcement Division is helping investigate the deaths.
