SEATTLE (AP) - The Seattle City Council on Monday unanimously approved a $34 million contribution to a new Ocean Pavilion at the Seattle Aquarium, which could cost up to $120 million total.

KOMO reports the new pavilion would include a giant glass-bottomed shark tank at the entrance to greet visitors and and people who pass by.

The aquarium describes the new 48,000-foot exhibit like a giant martini glass with up to five different species of sharks from the Coral Triangle, an area in the Pacific Ocean near Indonesia with endangered sea life. The 325,000-gallon tank and exhibit to be known as the Coral Canyon will be filled with big sharks, big sting rays and other sea life- all to draw attention to endangered sea life.
