NORTON, Mass. (AP) - Police have found multiple rounds of gun ammunition at a Massachusetts middle school.
The Norton Police Department says the ammo was found Wednesday afternoon at Norton Middle School.
They say a teacher reported to police that students had been discussing how a student had brought bullets into the building to trade with another student for electronic items.
The suspected students were interviewed and searched, but didn’t have any ammo on them. School staff then searched lockers after classes ended, locating the three rounds of rifle ammunition.
Norton Police conducted a more thorough search of the school grounds using K-9 units, which did not turn up any other ammunition or firearms.
The school still cancelled a winter concert planned that evening as a precaution.
Police say no charges have been filed so far, but the incident remains under investigation.
