PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a person detained by officers investigating a report of suspicious activity Wednesday bolted and ran before carjacking two vehicles in succession.
Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said a search was underway and the suspect remained at large after taking the second vehicle, an SUV, at gunpoint.
Fortune said the initial carjacking involved a delivery truck that the suspect abandoned before taking the SUV.
The incident occurred near Cave Creek and Cactus roads.
A statement released by Fortune didn’t specify the nature of the suspicious activity.
No injuries were reported.
