NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire city is offering free tests on Valentine’s Day to ensure that the only thing couples are sharing is love.
The Telegraph reports that the Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services is offering free testing for sexually transmitted diseases, HIV and hepatitis C on Thursday.
This is the second time Nashua has held the event. And it occurs at a time in which the Centers for Disease Control report an increase in chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis across the country.
Division Director Bobbie Bagley said the aim is to reduce stigma about sexually transmitted diseases and to have frank conversations about prevention. She says the testing itself takes just about 20 minutes, and people get the results right away.
