NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities in New York have seized 20,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills suspected of containing a mixture of fentanyl and heroin.
The city’s Special Narcotics Prosecutor announced Monday that four defendants connected to the pill ring have been arrested earlier this month in Manhattan and the Bronx on various charges including criminal possession of controlled substance.
The blue tablets were stamped with M30 to look like prescription oxycodone. Authorities believe the fentanyl pills originated from Mexico. Fentanyl is a highly potent synthetic opioid.
