MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Gov. Jim Justice has appointed Charles L. Capito Jr. to the West Virginia University Board of Governors.

Capito, a Charleston finance executive, is the husband of Republican U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito.

Justice appointed Capito to replace former board Chairman Tom Flaherty, who wasn’t eligible for another term. Capito’s term will run through mid-2022.

Capito is managing director and complex manager for the Wells Fargo Advisors office in Charleston.
