BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Alabama authorities say the 2-year-old child they thought was grazed by a bullet in a drive-by shooting was injured by part of a car seat instead.

WVTM-TV says the shooting happened Monday in Birmingham, and the child was taken to the hospital but was considered in good condition. The child was not identified.

Police said the child was riding in a car that was hit with bullets from a shooter in a second car and initially believed the 2-year-old was grazed by one of the bullets. But WBMA-TV reports the Birmingham Police Department later Monday said the child’s injury instead was caused by the car seat in the vehicle.

No one else was injured. No suspects had been arrested Monday.
