CARLSISLE, Pa. (AP) - A man convicted of a slaying in an American Legion post in central Pennsylvania will face a life prison sentence without possibility of parole.
Jurors in Cumberland County deliberated for about 90 minutes Monday before opting for the life term rather than a death penalty for 41-year-old Robert Anderson Jr.
The jury earlier deliberated for more than 13 hours before convicting Anderson in the June 2016 murder of Daniel Harris inside the Haines-Stackfield American Legion post in Carlisle.

The defense argued that there were mitigating factors, including that Anderson felt he was protecting his family. Prosecutors said the slaying occurred amid violent feud between the families of the two men.
Anderson will be formally sentenced in March. Defense attorney Heidi Eakin said the murder verdict will be appealed.
