BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Forecasters say a weekend storm dumped as much as 17 inches (431 millimeters) of snow in southwest North Dakota.

The National Weather Service says a weather spotter near Rhame reported 17 inches while 14 inches (355 millimeters) of snow fell in Bowman from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.

Snow depth in Marmarth measured 12 inches (304 millimeters) while other areas of the state saw far less accumulation, including 4 inches (101 millimeters) in Dickinson and just over 1 inch (25 millimeters) in Bismarck.
