TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (AP) - The Coast Guard has recovered a body during a search for a swimmer missing off the coast of Georgia.

News outlets report a Coast Guard helicopter spotted the body off Tybee Island on Tuesday, the day after a 33-year-old man was reported missing.

The missing swimmer’s name was not immediately released. WTOC-TV reports the Chatham County coroner had not yet identified the body. But the Coast Guard said in a news release that had ended its search for the swimmer.

Authorities said the missing man was last seen by his wife as he swam off the northern end of Tybee Island with a paddle board. Coast Guard crews searched through the night Monday and resumed looking for the man Tuesday morning.
