TAYLOR, Mich. (AP) - The FBI has executed multiple search warrants in the Detroit area as part of an ongoing public corruption investigation.

Detroit Special Agent in Charge Timothy Slater says agents and members of a public corruption task force converged Tuesday on Taylor City Hall and several other locations.

Details of the raids and what was removed from the offices were not released. Taylor is southwest of Detroit.

The Associated Press left a message seeking comment from Taylor Mayor Rick Sollars.

A federal grand jury in October indicted Detroit Councilman Gabe Leland on bribery charges. Former New Haven trustee Brett Harris was sentenced last year to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery.

Harris was one of 20 defendants charged in a corruption investigation in Macomb County.
