CRESCO, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania state police shot and wounded a man after he allegedly drove into a police vehicle as troopers tried to arrest him.

The shooting occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday at a home in Paradise.

Authorities say the man was being sought by law enforcement, though it’s not clear why. Troopers learned he was at the residence, and when they arrived they found him in a van.

The man allegedly drove off as troopers approached and struck a state police vehicle. Troopers then fired at the van, which soon crashed into a field.

The man was struck by one bullet and was being treated at a hospital for wounds that were not considered life-threatening. His name hasn’t been released.

No troopers were injured.
