President Trump said Wednesday that Attorney General William P. Barr will decide whether to make public any report from special counsel Robert Mueller, believed to be ready as soon as next week.

“That’ll be totally up to the new attorney general,” Mr. Trump said at the White House. “He’s a tremendous man, a tremendous person who really respects this country and respects the Justice Department.”

Mr. Barr, sworn in last week, told senators during his confirmation hearing that he hopes to release as much of the Mueller report as possible.

The president will be traveling to Vietnam next week to hold a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
