DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - A 27-year-old Alabama inmate who escaped from a work release center has been recaptured.

The Department of Corrections says Dyron Rashad Primus surrendered without a struggle Monday afternoon. State and federal officers took him into custody.

Primus escaped a community-based work center in Decatur earlier in the day.

Primus was serving a 15-year sentence for a marijuana possession in Morgan County. He was sentenced last year.
