WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Police say a drunken driver crashed into a man getting items from the trunk of a car in Massachusetts, severing the victim’s legs.
Authorities charged 22-year-old Jeffrey Pillco with drunken driving causing serious bodily injury in connection with the crash Sunday in Worcester.
The victim, identified in court records as Ramon Rodriguez, was pinned between the two vehicles around midnight.

Witnesses helped police push the car away before Rodriguez was transported to the hospital.
Police say Pillco’s blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was 0.17, more than twice the legal limit to drive. He pleaded not guilty Monday and was held on $10,000 bail.
Pillco’s attorney sought lower bail, saying his client has no prior record, no history of driving infractions and is not a flight risk.
