ORRINGTON, Maine (AP) - Two people have died in an early morning house fire in the Maine town of Orrington.
The fire marshal’s office says three other people - two men and a woman - escaped the fire that was reported around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Authorities say the bodies of a man and woman were found in the rubble. They will be transported to the state medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
Officials say the fire appears to have started in a first floor bedroom and spread quickly, destroying the home.
The Maine Department of Public Safety says the three survivors suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation.
