MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - Officials have released the name of a man killed in a fire near the South Carolina coast.
Deputy Charleston County Coroner Anita Hasert said the victim in Tuesday morning’s fire in Mount Pleasant was 55-year-old John McFarland.
Deputy Fire Chief Craig Mixon said the cause of the fire is under investigation. Mount Pleasant police say the fire is suspicious. The department did not say why it considers the fire suspicious.
The State Law Enforcement Division and the State fire marshal are helping in the investigation.
