TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey school bus driver who prosecutors say looked at child porn in between driving students has been sentenced to five years in prison.

NJ.com reports State Attorney General Gurbir Grewal says 58-year-old Eugene Triston, of Stanhope, will spend the rest of his life on parole supervision.

In a deal with prosecutors last year, Triston pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of distributing child pornography.

The attorney general’s office says investigators who connected to a shared folder on Triston’s computer were able to download 27 sexually explicit images of children and learned he had been viewing the images between bus runs in the Sparta Township Public School District.

During a hearing last year, the New Jersey Herald reported that his lawyer said Triston was severely abused as a child, and said he feels remorse and shame.
