LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (AP) - The Lake County coroner says a 75-year-old man died after being struck by a Libertyville snow plow.

Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said Tuesday that Donald Anderson died in the Monday morning accident. Cooper says preliminary autopsy results show Anderson died from multiple traumatic injuries. Toxicology results are pending. Cooper called the case a “terrible tragedy.”

Libertyville police say the village snow plow driver has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.

The accident happened as a winter storm moved across Illinois, bringing about 5 inches of snow to the region.
