OZARK, Ala. (AP) - A trial has been rescheduled for an Alabama man charged in the cold case slaying of a woman he’d divorced.

The Dothan Eagle reports a Feb. 4 trial date for Carl Harris Jr. will be changed. Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams says Harris’ murder trial will be moved for a special set jury term in July.

In 2016, Harris was charged in the 1990 death of Tracy Harris. She was initially reported missing but authorities found her naked from the waist up in the Choctawhatchee River.

Ozark police Investigator Lt. Jimmy “J.C.” Culbreath said an autopsy determined she drowned and had bruising on her neck that was consistent with strangulation. Culbreath testified the pair apparently stayed together after their divorce.

It’s unclear if Carl Harris Jr. has a lawyer who could comment.
