BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - An Alabama man has died after shots were fired into the vehicle in which he was riding from a passing car.

Birmingham police say a woman drove to a police station shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday and told officers her passenger had been hit by gunfire. First responders went to the station and declared 28-year-old Carltez Clark of Birmingham dead. Police earlier said Clark was 18 years old.

Sgt. Johnny Williams told news outlets that Clark was in a car when a male suspect in a black car pulled up beside the teen and shot into his car.

No arrests have been made.

Police say there was a similar shooting shortly before Clark was hit. There were no serious injuries in the first shooting.
