CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado girl will temporarily remain with her maternal grandparents as prosecutors pursue a murder charge against the 1-year-old’s father in her mother’s death.

A judge continued the temporary custody arrangement during a closed hearing Thursday.

According to a court-provided summary, those involved in the custody case are waiting to review evidence in the criminal case against the girl’s father, 31-year-old Patrick Frazee.

The next hearing in the custody case is Feb. 7.

Frazee was charged Monday with murder and solicitation to commit murder in the death of 29-year-old Kelsey Berreth.

Berreth and Frazee were engaged. Berreth’s body hasn’t been found but police say they believe she is dead.

Frazee is due back in court Friday for a hearing regarding evidence in the criminal case.
